Meet Hope, a sweet girl looking for the right home.  Hope's foster home believes she would be happiest in a home where she is either the only female dog or the only dog.  She finds cats of some interest but does not chase.  Hope is very shy at first but a lover once she warms up. Welcome to the homepage of the Samoyed Club of Austin, Inc.  Please spend a few minutes visiting the our site.  We have links to some wonderful sites for health information, grooming tips, Samoyed health research (SCARF) and much more. Our members are involved in many aspects of Samoyed ownership including conformation, agility, obedience, rally obedience, and animal-assisted therapy.  Some of our dogs have even dabbled in herding and weight pulls. The Samoyed Club of Austin, Inc. is a member club of the Samoyed Club of America, Inc. (SCA) and is licensed by the American Kennel Club, Inc. (AKC).  We host our annual Specialty Show in San Antonio, TX in conjunction with the Alamo City Cluster of Dog Shows in early March of each year.  Visit our 'Events' link to find out more about our next show. You do not have to own a Samoyed to join us at any of our meetings or to become a member.  If you would like to learn more about the Samoyed, meeting our members is a great way to hear first hand about Samoyed ownership and even meet some of our dogs.  Not in the Austin area?  Several members participate in conformation dog shows so it's possible you might meet them in cities across Texas. We hope to one day be as active as we once were in the rescue of Samoyeds but, for now, we cannot accept any dogs as we do not have any foster homes.  Although we cannot actively participate in rescue, we continue to lend a hand via 'passive' rescue by making referrals to other rescue organizations, assisting in home visits, etc. Please visit our fundraisers which include our Christimas greeting cards.  The four designs offered are *exclusive* to the Samoyed Club of Austin, Inc.  Proceeds of our fundraising benefit the Samoyed Club of Austin, Inc., a non-profit organization.
